About Will E. Toperoff, DNP, FNP-BC
Will Toperoff is a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC) who provides primary and specialized care for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. He is the lumbar puncture (LP) specialist for the Owen Clinic, performing the majority of LPs and providing LP training to medical students, residents and nurse practitioner students.
As a family nurse practitioner, Mr. Toperoff believes in a patient-centered, patient-empowered approach to care. Understanding his patients' health goals is fundamental to him and he always tries to incorporate patient education as a central part of any treatment plan. He feels his first role is a listener and then a provider of the best prevention and treatment options science has to offer for his patients.
Mr. Toperoff earned his doctorate in nursing/community health from Rush University at Rush Medical Center in Chicago, Ill. He earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Rush University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Illinois. He is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and has worked in primary care since 1998 and HIV since 2003.
Outside of work, Mr. Toperoff enjoys spending time with his family, music, hiking, biking and tennis. He is fluent in Spanish.
