About Genevieve J. Kaunitz, MD
Genevieve J. Kaunitz, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who practices general dermatology and treats a variety of skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis, and acne, among others. She has a special interest in the intersection of dermatology and immunology, through caring for patients who are immunosuppressed, as well as treating immune-related cutaneous side effects of chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.
Dr. Kaunitz strives for a patient-centered approach, addressing individual goals and concerns to build a comprehensive, yet attainable treatment plan.
As an assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology, she trains medical students and residents at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Kaunitz completed her residency in dermatology at New York University (NYU), where she served as chief resident, and earned her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology.
In her free time, she enjoys exploring new cities, restaurants and art museums.
