About Oscar Chavez, FNP  

Oscar Chavez, FNP, is a certified family nurse practitioner providing primary care through the Imperial Valley Family Care Medical Group. He is a member of the UC San Diego Health Physician Network.  

UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.  

As a family nurse practitioner, Mr. Chavez provides primary care to people of all ages. This includes preventive care, as well as diagnosing and treating chronic and acute conditions. Before joining Imperial Valley Family Care Medical Group, Mr. Chavez worked as a surgical technician, circulating nurse, operating room manager and director of surgical services at El Centro Regional Medical Center in El Centro, Calif. and Tri City Medical Center in Oceanside, Calif. over the last 15 years. He joined Imperial Valley Family Care Medical Group in 2015.

Mr. Chavez earned his master's degree in nursing, family nurse practitioners from United States University in San Diego. He is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and fluent in Spanish.
