About Emmett Lee Rice, DO
Emmett Lee Rice, DO, is a board-certified physician providing primary care through the San Diego Sports Medicine & Family Health Center. He is a member of UC San Diego Health Physician Network.

As a primary care physician with expertise in sports medicine, Dr. Rice provides preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and injuries for people of all ages. He has more than thirty years of experience as a family and sports medicine physician. His passion is facilitating positive life transformations through education and inspiration.
Dr. Rice completed his residency in family medicine at the Naval Region Medical Center at Camp Pendleton and earned his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is board certified in family medicine with a subspecialty in sports medicine. Dr. Rice is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP), American College of Sports Medicine (FACSM), and the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine (FAOASM). He is also a diplomat of the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine.
A committed family man, Dr. Rice is father to two beautiful daughters, is a proud grandfather and resides in Point Loma with his beloved wife, Mary, dog (Hugs) and Maine coon cat (Yogi).
