About O. Alison Potok, MD
O. Alison Potok, MD, is a board-certified nephrologist who treats patients with kidney disease. She consults with patients who are hospitalized and sees outpatients in the clinic and chronic hemodialysis patients in the community.
She also conducts research on the prediction of kidney failure risk in people with chronic kidney disease, and on the association between markers of kidney function and frailty in elderly people.
Dr. Potok completed a fellowship in nephrology at UC San Diego Health. She did residency training in internal medicine at University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia. She earned her medical degree at Paris Descartes University in France. Dr. Potok is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology.
She is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, National Kidney Foundation, American Geriatrics Society, and American College of Physicians.
Her awards include the American Kidney Fund – Clinical Scientist in Nephrology Fellowship Program.
Outside of work, Dr. Potok enjoys music, piano, travel, and spending time with family and friends. She is fluent in French in addition to English.
