About Kate Haggerty, MD, MPH
Kate Haggerty, MD, is a board-certified physician providing primary care through Perlman Clinic, an independent practice with clinic offices throughout San Diego. She is a member of the UC San Diego Health Physician Network.
UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.
As a primary care physician, Dr. Haggerty provides preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and injuries for adults. Her practice is focused on whole-person care, improving quality of life and optimizing overall health through the six pillars of lifestyle medicine: nourishing foods, regular physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, minimizing high-risk substances and positive social connections. With years of experience in digital/virtual medicine, urgent care and primary care, she partners with patients so they feel heard, respected and valued.
Dr. Haggerty completed her residency at UC San Diego/San Diego State University General Preventive Medicine Residency Program and earned her medical degree from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. She holds a master's degree in public health from San Diego State University and is board certified in public health and general preventive medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Haggerty enjoys surfing, running, hiking and playing outside with her family and friends. Her family is a big priority in her life and she loves spending quality time and going on adventures with her husband and two active children.
