About Fariba Basali, MD

Fariba Basali, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine doctor who provides primary care for adults, including preventive care and diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases.

She cherishes the opportunity to form long-term relationships with patients and work with a diverse set of patients. She loves solving challenging medical cases with accurate diagnoses and ensuring that treatments work effectively.

Before joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Basali worked as a primary care physician and helped patients with HIV/AIDS and substance abuse disorders in Iran for more than 10 years.

Dr. Basali completed her residency training in internal medicine at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, N.J., and earned her medical degree from Islamic Azad University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. She is board-certified in internal medicine.

She is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association. Dr. Basali also speaks Farsi.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and swimming. She likes cooking and gardening and loves spending time with family and friends.
