About Jacob Husseman, MD
Jacob Husseman, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist who cares for patients with ear, nose and throat disorders. He performs endoscopies, ultrasound biopsies and smaller surgical procedures. For patients needing more specialized care, particularly complicated head and neck cancer diagnoses, he may initiate workups and then refer them to a colleague.
He was drawn to the broad variety of clinical practice in otolaryngology. He appreciates the fact that a day in the operating room may entail intricate work under the microscope followed by removal of a large tumor for another patient. Some of the most satisfying encounters are those where he can provide treatment or surgery and relieve an ailment forever. However, that doesn't apply to all patients and building relationships with patients in the long term to help them understand an illness and manage long-term problems is also a tremendous part of his career.
Dr. Husseman completed a neurotology fellowship at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia where he gained training and expertise in ear disorders. He completed a residency in otolaryngology at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle.
He is married with three children and spends much of his free time enjoying performances and athletic events. Dr. Husseman enjoys running nearly every day. He also enjoys working on his home and yard.
