About Daniel G. Blanchard, MD, FACC
Daniel Blanchard, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist who performs noninvasive surgery and diagnostics such as echocardiography. He also treats hyperlipidemia (high levels of fats, cholesterol and triglycerides) and congenital heart disease.
As a professor in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Blanchard trains medical students, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He is also director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program.
In addition, Dr. Blanchard conducts research in transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, pulmonary hypertension and right ventricular hypertrophy, hyperlipidemia, and cardiac imaging and pulmonary hypertension. His work has been published widely in professional journals.
Dr. Blanchard completed his residency and fellowship at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he also earned his medical degree. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).
