Lisa Wastila, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine doctor. She provides primary care for adults, including preventive care and diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. Dr. Wastila enjoys establishing a rapport with her patients as well as their families and caregivers. She encourages them to make positive lifestyle decisions that protect their health and feels that health promotion is a cooperative effort between the physician and the patient. Dr. Wastila has had a lifelong interest in both science and people. She feels that as a physician, she can blend these interests while making a positive difference to help others.
Dr. Wastila is a fellow in the American College of Physicians, a distinction that recognizes her outstanding achievement in internal medicine.
As a professor of medicine, Dr. Wastila is involved in training medical students, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Wastila completed her residency training at Stanford University. She earned her medical degree at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She is board-certified in internal medicine.
