About Evelyn Tecoma, MD, PhD
In 1991, Dr. Tecoma was recruited to serve as Associate Director of the UC San Diego Epilepsy Center, a busy tertiary referral center, epilepsy monitoring unit, and comprehensive epilepsy surgery program.
Dr. Tecoma spends the majority of her time as an active clinician, and is chief of the neurology service at UC San Diego Health's Thornton Pavilion, the location of the Will Sally Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
In addition to patient care and teaching, Dr. Tecoma is also active in epilepsy research; she is the author of numerous articles, and lectures widely on areas of her specialty including clinical trials, presurgical evaluation, vagus nerve stimulation therapy, reproductive hormones and epilepsy, and the diagnosis and management of epilepsy.
