About Rajat Suri, MD
Rajat Suri, MD, is a board-certified pulmonologist and critical care physician. He provides care for patients in the pulmonary clinic treating patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, interstitial lung disease, and other pulmonary-related conditions. He also provides care for the most critically ill patients in the intensive care unit.
As an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine and Physiology, he is involved in the training and mentoring of medical students, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Suri has research interests in dissemination and implementation science with a specific interest in building tools and processes to streamline workflow for physicians and deliver guideline concordant care.
He completed fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at UC Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine, where he also completed residency training in internal medicine. Dr. Suri earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He also has a master's degree in health policy and management with an emphasis on implementation science from UC Los Angeles Fielding School of Public Health.
Dr. Suri is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonology and critical care medicine. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians.
In his free time, he enjoys hiking and traveling.
