About Jeffrey Ewing Lee, MD
Jeffrey Lee, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist with expertise in a variety of surgical procedures, including complex cataract surgeries and pterygium removal. He utilizes the most advanced and innovative surgical techniques while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality to comprehensively treat each person.
As an associate professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Lee conducts original research and keeps up-to-date on the most promising new approaches to eye care. His current research interests include facial burns, orbital trauma and ocular manifestations of HIV.
Dr. Lee is passionate about education and greatly enjoys mentoring and teaching medical students and residents. In recognition of his exceptional commitment to education, Dr. Lee has won several teaching awards. He is also program director of the Department of Ophthalmology's residency program and is honored to play a role in shaping the future of ophthalmology at the university.
Dr. Lee completed residency training and earned his medical degree from UC San Diego School of Medicine.
During his medical training, Dr. Lee cared for elderly and indigent people at the San Diego VA Hospital and the UC San Diego Medical Center. He continues to combine training with philanthropy and is committed to programs that bring quality vision care to those in need.
