About Amilcare Gentili, MD
Amilcare Gentili, MD, is a board-certified radiologist. His specific areas of interest include musculoskeletal tumors, sports medicine, arthritis and musculoskeletal MR imaging.
As a professor in the Department of Radiology at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Gentili is actively involved in the Radiology Residency Program and the Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship Program.
Dr. Gentili has coauthored numerous abstracts, book chapters, and articles related to musculoskeletal imaging. He also reviews for the American Journal of Roentgenology and is an editor for eMedicine.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, he served as an Associate Professor of Radiological Sciences at UCLA and the Assistant Chief of Radiology at VA West Los Angeles Medical Center.
Dr. Gentili completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at University Hospitals of Cleveland, as well as a residency in nuclear medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami, where he served as chief resident. He earned his medical degree from University of Pavia in Italy. Dr. Gentili is board certified in diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine and clinical informatics.
