About Erin Reid, MD
Erin Reid, MD, is a board-certified hematologist who specializes in treating patients with a wide range of hematologic and HIV-related malignancies, including lymphoma and Kaposi sarcoma. She sees patients at both Moores Cancer Center and the Owen Clinic, a comprehensive HIV care center.
Recognized for her expertise in HIV-related cancers, Dr. Reid serves as vice-chair of the Lymphoma Working Group of the AIDS Malignancy Consortium (AIDScancer.org), sponsored by the National Cancer Institute, and is a member its Kaposi Sarcoma Working Group.
She is the principal investigator of several clinical trials for hematologic and HIV-related malignancies. Her current research focuses on developing novel cancer treatments that use viruses within tumors to target and destroy malignant cells. Through her work, she hopes to improve the prevention, diagnostics and treatment of patients with HIV-related cancer.
Dr. Reid completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at UC San Diego School of Medicine and a fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she also completed a residency in internal medicine. She earned her medical degree from UC San Francisco. Dr. Reid is board-certified in internal medicine and hematology.
She has been named a top doctor in San Diego Magazine's "Physicians of Exceptional Excellence" survey performed in collaboration with the San Diego County Medical Society. Her clinical expertise as a top doctor has also been recognized nationally by U.S. News and World Report.
