About Jack Bui, MD, PhD
Jack Bui, MD, PhD, is a board-certified pathologist with expertise in tumor immunology and immune function tests. As a pathologist, he studies cells and tissues from biopsies and excisions to diagnosis diseases and define their extent. Dr. Bui interfaces between the cancer research and immunology programs.
As an associate professor in the Department of Pathology, Dr. Bui instructs medical students, residents and fellows. His current research focuses on how the innate immune system detects, infiltrates, and destroys cancer cells. He also directs the stem cell processing laboratory in the Department of Pathology.
Dr. Bui completed residency training at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where he also worked as a postdoctoral fellow on innate immunity and cancer. He earned his medical and doctoral degree from UC San Diego School of Medicine. He is board certified in clinical pathology.
