About William Perry, PhD
William Perry, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist. He is also a professor and vice chair for Program Development and Operations for the Department of Psychiatry and co-director of the Division of Clinical Psychiatry.
Dr. Perry's clinical expertise encompasses a number of areas, including assessing sports-related concussions and evaluating the cognitive abilities of those with cognitive deficits or a mental health disorder.
Dr. Perry works closely with many other medical specialists to assist in identifying the most effective treatment options for each person's medical care.
As a professor of psychiatry, Dr. Perry is involved in training the next generation of mental health professionals. He is also an active researcher, studying psychiatric disorders, including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, as well as substance use disorders.
Dr. Perry is a past president of the National Academy of Neuropsychology and has served as a consultant to the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command and a number of professional athletic teams.
