About Jason Weiner, MD, FACP, FACR
Jason Weiner, MD, is a board-certified rheumatologist specializing in the diagnosis and management of rheumatic diseases including arthritis, osteoporosis and autoimmune diseases. He considers it an honor and privilege to care for all patients and help however possible.
In addition to treating patients at UC San Diego Health, he is also a rheumatologist in the United States Navy.
Dr. Weiner is involved in the education and training of medical students, residents and fellows in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology at UC San Diego School of Medicine. His interests include health professions education, musculoskeletal ultrasound and rheumatic disease awareness and advocacy.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, he was assistant professor of medicine at Uniformed Services University and faculty and former associate program director Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Commands (NMRTC) - San Diego Internal Medicine Residency.
Dr. Weiner completed his fellowship in rheumatology at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Portsmouth, Va. Dr. Weiner earned his medical degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. He is board certified in rheumatology and internal medicine. He also holds musculoskeletal ultrasound certification in rheumatology (RhMSUS) from the American College of Rheumatology.
He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology. Dr. Weiner is also a member of the Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists and the American Board of Internal Medicine Item Writing Task Force Rheumatology Section.
In his free time, Dr. Weiner enjoys sailing, bowling and trying new activities.
