About Charles W. Nager, MD
Charles W. Nager, MD, is a board-certified urogynecologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating female pelvic floor disorders such as pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, and lower urinary tract disorders. Dr. Nager believes that these conditions are very treatable and enjoys helping his patients improve the quality of their lives. He is an experienced surgeon who has performed thousands of prolapse and incontinence operations.
As a professor of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, Dr. Nager instructs medical students, residents, and fellows. His teaching focuses on urogynecology, and his research interests include urodynamics and clinical trials for prolapse and incontinence.
He has over 110 peer-reviewed publications and was a past president of the American Urogynecologic Society, the leading professional subspecialty society for Urogynecology.
Dr. Nager grew up in El Cajon, attended Stanford University, and then UC San Diego School of Medicine for medical school and residency. He subsequently completed a fellowship in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery at St. George's University in London. Dr. Nager is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery and is an oral examiner for subspecialty certification in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.
He is honored to have been selected by his peers for 14 consecutive years as one of San Diego's Top Doctors in San Diego Magazine's "Physicians of Exceptional Excellence" annual survey performed in collaboration with the San Diego County Medical Society.
Dr. Nager is married and the father of two adult children.
