About Binh T. Ly, MD
Binh Ly, MD, is a board-certified medical toxicologist. He provides bedside assessment and management of both inpatients and outpatients with poisonings, overdoses, bites, stings, and other related problems.
As a professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Ly instructs medical students, residents and fellows. He also directs the Emergency Medicine Residency Program and Medical Toxicology Fellowship Program at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Ly's areas of interest include drugs of abuse, poisonous mushrooms, cardiovascular toxicology, ethanol withdrawal, and marine toxins. He is a reviewer for major publications in the fields of emergency medicine, toxicology, and pharmacology, and serves as the editor for the Pharmacology in Emergency section of the Journal of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Ly completed a fellowship in medical toxicology at UC San Diego School of Medicine and a residency in emergency medicine at UCSF-Fresno. He earned his medical degree from UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Dr. Ly is board certified in emergency medicine and medical toxicology. He is a fellow of the American College of Medical Toxicology and the American College of Emergency Physicians.
