John Kelsoe, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist who specializes in bipolar disorder. His research focuses on the genetics of psychiatric illness. He finds using science to approach patient care very rewarding.
He currently supervises residents and is not accepting new patients.
Dr. Kelsoe completed his fellowship in clinical neuroscience at the National Institute for Mental Health in Bethesda, Md. He completed his residency in psychiatry at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Kelsoe earned his medical degree at University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham and is board certified in psychiatry.
He is a member of numerous professional societies including the International Society for Psychiatric Genetics, the Society for Neuroscience and the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.
In his free time, Dr. Kelsoe enjoys sailing and racing motorcycles.
