About Weldon Haw, MD
Weldon, Haw, MD, is an ophthalmologist who specializes in advanced cataract surgery techniques, cornea transplantation, and laser/refractive surgery.
He is professor of ophthalmology at UC San Diego School of Medicine & Shiley Eye Institute where he trains ophthalmologists, medical students, and residents in new and developing techniques in cornea, refractive, and cataract surgery. He is also chief of ophthalmology at San Diego Veterans Affairs Healthcare System.
Dr. Haw has been selected by US News & World Report as one of the top doctors in ophthalmology. He has consistently been named to America's Top Doctors by several consumer groups and is a recipient of the prestigious Thomas D. & Ruth Byers Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellowship award given to a select few of the nation's top ophthalmologists.
Dr. Haw was on faculty at Stanford University School of Medicine where he served as Clinic Chief and Director of the South Bay Eye Laser Center before being recruited to UC San Diego Shiley Eye Institute. He is the author of over 100+ publications, lectures, and manuscripts.
