
About Pedro Ramos, MD
Pedro Ramos, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician who specializes in caring for hospitalized patients. As a hospitalist, Dr. Ramos is assigned to patients at the time of admission and provides care only during their hospital stay. He does not see patients at outpatient clinics and is not available for appointments. Upon a patient's discharge, Dr. Ramos communicates with their regular physician to ensure quality care.
As a professor in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Ramos instructs medical students, residents and fellows. His quality improvement project focuses on the transition from infusion to subcutaneous insulin.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Ramos was a hospitalist for St. Jude's Hospital.
Dr. Ramos completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Florida, College of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine.
