About Marc Akashi, MD, FAAP

Marc Akashi, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician providing care through the Children's Primary Care Medical Group. He is a member of UC San Diego Health Physician Network.

As a pediatrician, Dr. Akashi provides primary care for infants, children and young adults. He enjoys all aspects of pediatrics, especially preventive medicine. His goal is to help families ensure healthy growth and development of their children.

Dr. Akashi completed his residency at Duke University School of Medicine and earned his medical degree at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. He is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). Dr. Akashi's hometown is Yokohama, Japan and he is fluent in Japanese.

In his free time, he likes to read, play table tennis and explore San Diego with his wife and daughter.
