Michel Mendler, MD, is a gastroenterologist and transplant hepatologist. In addition to colonoscopies, he has expertise in performing upper and lower GI endoscopies and percutaneous liver biopsies to diagnose and treat patients with digestive and liver diseases including liver cancer, alcoholic liver disease and hepatitis.
His clinical research interests include nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, complications of cirrhosis and liver transplantation, alcoholic liver disease, and hepatitis B virus epidemiology.
Dr. Mender has authored book chapters and his research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals. He serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for several medical journals including Journal of Hepatology and Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics.
Dr. Mendler completed residency and fellowship training in radiology and GI and liver at Limoges University Hospital in France. He also completed residency training at USC Liver Unit, Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center in Downey, Calif., and at Rennes University Hospital in France. Dr. Mendler received his medical degree from University of Rennes Medical School in France.
He is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
In addition to the locations above, Dr. Mendler sees patients in Rancho Mirage and Corona, Calif.
