Cara Cohen, MD, FAAP

Cara Cohen, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician providing care through the Children's Primary Care Medical Group. She is a member of UC San Diego Health Physician Network.

UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.

As a pediatrician, Dr. Cohen provides primary care for infants, children and young adults. Her love for children made pediatrics an easy decision. She feels privileged to be invited into the lives of her patients and their families. As a mother of three children, Dr. Cohen can relate to the amazing joys, as well as the struggles that all families encounter. She strongly believes in the body's ability to help heal itself and prescribes honey and chicken soup more often than antibiotics.

Dr. Cohen completed her residency at Baystate Medical Center and earned her medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine. She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). Dr. Cohen is fluent in Spanish.

Outside of work, Dr. Cohen enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband and children. She also loves reading, quilting and Pilates.
