Matthew Murray, MD, is a board-certified emergency medicine and pediatric emergency physician. He specializes in caring for patients at the emergency departments at UC San Diego Health Hillcrest and La Jolla, as well as the emergency department at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego.
Dr. Murray is passionate about emergency department critical care, resuscitation and airway management for both pediatric and adult patients. He finds the management of critically ill children both challenging and extremely rewarding.
As an associate professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Murray is involved in the training and education of medical students, residents and fellows in the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics.
Dr. Murray completed fellowship training in pediatric emergency medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine/Rady Children's Hospital San Diego. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Tufts University/Baystate Hospital. He earned his medical degree from University of Sydney Faculty of Medicine in Australia.
Dr. Murray is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, daughter and son, and also enjoys endurance sports.
