Ammar Mandvi, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who provides care for all ages and sees patients for acute visits and management of chronic diseases, as well as preventive care. He performs in-office procedures such as joint injections and skin and soft tissue procedures.
Dr. Mandvi aims to address the reason for patients' visits while also making sure to monitor their overall health and preventive needs such as screening for colon cancer, breast cancer, and prevention of chronic diseases.
As an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine, Dr. Mandvi instructs and trains residents at UC San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Mandvi completed fellowship training in clinical informatics at UC San Diego School of Medicine, focusing on improving patient care through technology such as enhancing health outcomes within primary care using artificial intelligence. He completed residency training in family medicine at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier, Calif. and earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, Portsmouth, Dominica.
He is a member of the American Medical Informatics Association, American Academy of Family Physicians and American Medical Association.
Dr. Mandvi enjoys learning about new technology, focusing on family and giving back to the community. He loves watching stand-up comedy and trying new experiences through travel.
