Alan You, MD, is a board-certified emergency medicine doctor who treats people of all ages in the emergency department setting, including those with life-threatening or critical conditions. His expertise includes evaluation, resuscitation, stabilization and referring patients to appropriate medical departments.
Dr. You's research interests include medical informatics, observation medicine and quality improvement. His work has appeared in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine and he has co-authored a chapter on tetanus in Tintinalli's Emergency Medicine: A Comprehensive Study Guide.
Dr. You completed residency training in the combined emergency medicine and internal medicine program at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va., where he received an award for excellence in residency. He holds a medical degree from University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Medicine, which is based in Birmingham, Ala. He is board certified in emergency medicine.
He is a member of professional organizations such as the American College of Physicians, American College of Emergency Physicians, Emergency Medical Residents Association and American Medical Association.
Outside of work, he enjoys swimming, photography, traveling and playing board games.
