About Felise S. Zollman, MD
Felise Zollman, MD, is a board-certified neurologist with subspecialty certification in brain injury medicine. While Dr. Zollman's focus is on treating brain injuries, she also treats patients with general neurological conditions.
"My approach is to provide ethical, high quality, personal, evidence-based medical care," Dr. Zollman explains. She values helping patients understand the nature of their neurological issue or concern and partnering with them in developing an approach to their neurological care needs.
As an associate professor of neurosciences in the UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Zollman enjoys teaching students, interns and residents as well. Her research on traumatic brain injury has been published in many professional journals and she has written book chapters and is the editor of a textbook about brain injury, now in its third edition.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Zollman was a faculty member and clinician at several academic medical centers and also worked in private practice in neurology, medical acupuncture and rehabilitation medicine.
Dr. Zollman completed her neurology residency and served as chief resident at University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
In addition, Dr. Zollman trained as a medical acupuncturist through a unique physician acupuncturist training program offered via Stanford University/UCLA.
Dr. Zollman is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and American Academy of Medical Acupuncture.
A native of Southern California, Dr. Zollman says she loves the climate and natural beauty of the area, such as the beaches, deserts and mountains.
