About Uri Guefen, MD

Uri Guefen, MD, is a board-certified physician providing primary care through Perlman Clinic, an independent practice with clinic offices throughout San Diego. He is a member of the UC San Diego Health Physician Network.

UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.

As a primary care physician, Dr. Guefen provides preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and injuries for people of all ages. He practiced emergency medicine for 22 years in San Diego and Imperial Counties. Dr. Guefen also worked as a ship's doctor on cruises, which allowed him to travel and explore different cultures. Since 2006, he has worked in primary and urgent care. He strives to be a health care advocate for his patients with a caring, personable personality and great sense of humor.

Dr. Guefen completed his residency in general surgery at University of Miami School of Medicine and earned his medical degree from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico School of Medicine. Dr. Guefen is board certified in emergency medicine.

Outside of work, Dr. Guefen enjoys traveling, swimming, walking, hiking and riding his motorcycle.
