About Cornelius J. Jansen, MD
Cornelius Jansen, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist/head and neck surgeon who treats patients with general medical ear, nose and throat conditions.
He completed his residency in general surgery and otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at Johns Hopkins Medicine, where he also earned his medical degree. He is board certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Jansen completed research at the Rhode Island Hospital, The National Institutes of Health and at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He has published articles in publications related to immunology, laryngeal cancer and hearing loss.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Jansen worked at the FDA on the Over-the-Counter Drug Review. He also worked at the Maui Medical Group for 10 years and at Kaiser Permanente in Walnut Creek, California for 20 years.
He is a member of the American Association of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Medical Association.
In his spare time, Dr. Jansen enjoys swimming, sailing, biking and hiking. In addition to English, he speaks Dutch and French.
