Mackenzie Coffin, MD, FAAP

Mackenzie Coffin, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician providing care through the Children's Primary Care Medical Group. She is a member of UC San Diego Health Physician Network. 

UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region. 

As a pediatrician, Dr. Coffin provides primary care for infants, children and young adults. She knew she wanted to be a doctor from the time she was 10 years old and has always had a soft spot in her heart for children. Getting to participate in each child's unique development, as well as working with the family as a unit to help maximize each child's potential is incredibly rewarding to Dr. Coffin. She feels privileged to partner with parents in helping their children thrive physically, emotionally and mentally over time. Dr. Coffin also loves the daily joys that come from interacting with children and hearing the fun, surprising and interesting things they say.

Dr. Coffin completed her residency in pediatrics and earned her medical degree at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).

Outside of work, Dr. Coffin enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter hiking, meeting with extended family and cooking delicious and healthy meals. She also likes jogging outside, using her Peloton and taking Peloton classes, yoga, learning about and practicing mindfulness, playing piano, painting, journaling, hiking and going out to eat from time to time.
