About Mike Fitzgerald, MD
Mike Fitzgerald, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist who provides care for people with depression, anxiety, mood disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He uses neuromodulation methods including pharmacotherapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
Dr. Fitzgerald sees patients at UC San Diego Health's Interventional Psychiatry Clinic, the region's largest clinic dedicated to treating severe depression with brain stimulation approaches. He enjoys tailoring the variety and cutting-edge therapies available to meet the individual needs of each patient.
Prior to joining UC San Diego, Health, Dr. Fitzgerald practiced psychiatry, telepsychiatry and addiction medicine. He also has experience performing disability examinations for veterans and providing mental health services to underserved communities in southern California.
Dr. Fitzgerald completed a residency in psychiatry at UC San Diego School of Medicine and earned his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He is board certified in psychiatry.
Outside of work, he enjoys golf, swimming, guitar, yoga and spending time with his family and dog.
