About Blanca Ortiz, MD, FAAP
Blanca Ortiz, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician providing care through the Children's Primary Care Medical Group. She is a member of UC San Diego Health Physician Network.
UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.
As a pediatrician, Dr. Ortiz provides primary care for infants, children and young adults. She loves working with children, as well as helping the Spanish-speaking community and their children in their medical needs. Dr. Ortiz enjoys the ability to make a difference in their lives and having the opportunity to help them and teach them how to live a healthy life. Her advice to parents is to be there for their children in everything they do – at home, school and extracurricular activities. She says always listen and communicate with children because they are listening and learning.
Dr. Ortiz completed her residency at Children's Hospital of Orange County and earned her medical degree at University of Missouri School of Medicine. She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). Dr. Ortiz is fluent in Spanish.
Outside of work, Dr. Ortiz enjoys spending time with her husband, family and two dogs. She also likes traveling with her husband, reading, running and taking Zumba classes.
