Claudia Camacho, MD, FAAP

Claudia Camacho, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician providing care through the Children's Primary Care Medical Group. She is a member of UC San Diego Health Physician Network.

UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.

As a pediatrician, Dr. Camacho provides primary care for infants, children and young adults. Treating children and working with their parents to keep them healthy and thriving brings her joy and fulfillment. Dr. Camacho feels the greatest part of her job is helping an infant grow into a self-sufficient, competent adult. She is drawn to children's frank honesty and innocence, which keep her grounded and humble.

Dr. Camacho completed her residency at Lurie Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago and earned her medical degree at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). Dr. Camacho is fluent in Spanish.

Outside of work, Dr. Camacho enjoys reading for pleasure, traveling, Pilates, massages, baking and being a volleyball team mom. She is married to a fellow physician and they have three children. Her family enjoys traveling together and their shared experiences discovering new cultures and places has helped to broaden their view of the world and their role in it.
