Steve Koh, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist who provides expert general adult and geriatric mental health care for a range of common conditions such as depression and anxiety.
He enjoys spending time with and listening to his patients and considers it a privilege to help patients struggling with mental illness. His approach to care is empathetic and patient-centered.
Dr. Koh has expertise in providing gender-affirming care to transgender and nonbinary patients.
Mental health conditions are often rooted in biological and psychological factors, and it is common for older people to experience certain feelings and challenges. Dr. Koh works to connect these contributing factors, addressing each to improve patients' quality of life and daily life functioning.
Dr. Koh is a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and is a member of the California Medical Association, San Diego Psychiatric Society, Group for Advancement of Psychiatry, American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry and American Association for Community Psychiatry.
Dr. Koh completed fellowship and residency training, and earned his medical degree at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He earned his Master's Degrees in Public Health and Business Administration from The Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Koh is board certified in both psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, trying new foods, reading, watching movies and spending time with his dog.
