
About Sang Hoon Kim, MD
Sang Hoon Kim, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician who specializes in caring for hospitalized patients. As a hospitalist, Dr. Kim is assigned to patients at the time of admission and provides care only during their hospital stay. He does not see patients at outpatient clinics and is not available for appointments. Upon a patient's hospital discharge, Dr. Kim communicates with their regular physician to ensure quality care.
He has a special interest in medical student and resident training, particularly in curriculum development.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Kim served as a hospitalist for Cooper University Hospital and Inspira Health Network in New Jersey where he also lead a team of internal medicine residents and medical students in providing patient care.
He completed a residency in internal medicine from Cooper University Hospital and earned his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, N.J.
In his free time, Dr. Kim enjoys playing tennis and ping pong, hiking, snowboarding and surfing.
