About Nicholas Scanlon, MD
Nicholas Scanlon, MD, is an allergist and immunologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, asthma, angioedema (including hereditary angioedema), hives, food allergy, medication allergy, immunodeficiency, and other related conditions. He has a specific interest in primary and secondary immunodeficiency.
Dr. Scanlon enjoys getting to know his patients and working with them to find a treatment plan.
As an assistant professor at the UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Scanlon trains medical students, residents and fellows. He also works on clinical research projects and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Scanlon completed fellowship training in allergy and immunology at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He completed residency training in internal medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and earned his medical degree from University of Alabama School of Medicine.
He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
Outside of work, Dr. Scanlon enjoys travel, going to the beach, and running.
