About Summer Collier, MSN, RN, FNP-BC
Summer Collier, MSN, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC) who provides care for patients living with chronic liver disease. She has expertise in treating viral hepatitis B and C, autoimmune associated liver disease and alcohol associated liver disease. Ms. Collier is also part of the UC San Diego NAFLD Research Center where she helps with the management of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) in both the clinical setting and in randomized control trials.
She helped develop a transitions of care program for patients admitted with a decompensation of their cirrhosis, reducing early admission rates. Ms. Coller is currently chair of the advanced practice council at UC San Diego Health.
Before joining UC San Diego Health, she was a family nurse practitioner and HIV specialist with Family Health Centers of San Diego. She also has prior experience as a registered nurse.
Ms. Collier completed a master of science in nursing degree from University of San Diego. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
