About Daphne Tran, DNP, FNP-BC
Daphne Tran, DNP, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC) who diagnoses and treats various acute and chronic conditions within the scope of primary care practice. She focuses on health promotion, health maintenance and disease prevention.
Daphne knew she wanted to become a nurse practitioner since she was 19 years old. She wanted to help patients learn ways to prevent the onset of chronic illnesses and improve their overall well-being. She chose family medicine because she enjoys caring for various age groups. Daphne enjoys fostering a collaborative relationship with her patients and strives to involve them in the decision-making process. It brings her great joy when patients achieve their health goals.
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Daphne worked as a registered nurse at various institutions throughout San Diego, including at UC San Diego Health. Her experiences as a registered nurse strengthened her desire to become a nurse practitioner because it reinforced the value of preventive medicine.
Daphne completed her doctor of nursing practice degree at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego. She completed a master's degree in nursing from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif. and her bachelor's degree in nursing from San Diego State University.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling because it allows her to learn more about people's cultures and traditions. In her travels, she enjoys hiking, camping and visiting national parks.
