About Allyssa Perez, MS, FNP-BC
Allyssa Perez, NP, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who provides cares for adult patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and other neurological disorders using a multidisciplinary and holistic approach.
Ms. Perez is passionate about serving vulnerable populations with chronic disease by breaking down barriers to health and wellness. She believes in partnering with patients and their families to develop personalized, culturally competent and goal-oriented health care plans that empower patients to achieve their fullest potential.
Prior to joining the team as a nurse practitioner, Ms. Perez' clinical background includes three years as a registered nurse at the UC San Diego Multiple Sclerosis Center under the mentorship of renowned neuroimmunologists. She also has experience as a medical-surgical bedside nurse and a perioperative nurse in a surgical center. Nursing is her second career, after five wonderful years in education, as her students motivated her to achieve her childhood dream of helping others through health care.
Ms. Perez earned her master's degree and bachelor's degree in nursing at Azusa Pacific University, as well as a bachelor's degree in psychology at Gonzaga University. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Nurses. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Outside of work, Ms. Perez enjoys making each day an adventure with her husband and children. She loves to cook, bake, visit local breweries and restaurants, and simply spend quality family time in the wonderfully diverse setting of San Diego.
