About Rachelle Sawyer, MD
Rachelle Sawyer, MD is a board-certified family medicine doctor providing the full breadth of primary care for patients of all ages, including children, adolescents, adults and seniors. Her practice emphasizes preventive care, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases.
Dr. Sawyer also focuses on weight management, mental health, metabolic syndrome, sleep disorders and women's health. She has a particular interest in lifestyle and integrative medicine and she completed additional training in these areas. Lifestyle medicine is the foundation of her philosophy as a doctor. Dr. Sawyer aims to preserve and improve her patients' health instead of simply treating illnesses once they develop.
She specialized in primary care because she finds it rewarding to have long-term relationships with patients and find opportunities to educate and empower them.
Dr. Sawyer completed her residency training in family medicine at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego, where she was chief resident. She earned her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. She is board certified in family medicine.
She is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Sawyer enjoys cooking, hiking, hot yoga, water skiing, volleyball and traveling with her husband and daughter.
