About Jade Nishiki Sano, PT, DPT, OCS
Jade Nishiki Sano, DPT, is a licensed physical therapist and board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) who helps patients with orthopedic injuries and conditions, and specializes in pelvic rehabilitation.
As a physical therapist, Sano empowers her patients by educating them about their bodies to improve their well-being. She was inspired to specialize in pelvic rehabilitation after seeing the challenges of post-partum women returning to sports. She enjoys helping all her patients return to performing activities they love.
Sano completed her doctorate degree in physical therapy at Mount Saint Mary's University in Los Angeles and earned her bachelor's degree in psychobiology at UC Los Angeles.
In her free time, Sano stays active with kendo, hiking, and Olympic weightlifting. She started practicing the martial art of kendo, also known as Japanese fencing, at the age of 12 and has competed in four national and three world kendo championships. She is now an instructor and enjoys sharing her knowledge on injury prevention and performance enhancement. She also likes trying different types of food and spending time with her husband and family. Sano is fluent in Japanese.
