About Mansoor Movaghar, MD
Mansoor Movaghar, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in childhood eye misalignments and disorders, and adult eye movement disorders, including re-alignment for strabismus.
His patients may also have double vision, amblyopia, pediatric cataracts, nasolacrimal duct disorders, congenital eye syndromes or systemic diseases affecting the eyes.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, he was an eye doctor at the American Hospital in Dubai, and a clinical professor at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University in New York. He also practiced medicine in Madison, Wisconsin for more than a decade.
Dr. Movaghar is a fellow with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
He completed fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed residency training in ophthalmology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his family and has been on several medical missions to Central America and South America to perform strabismus surgery for the poor.
