About Vivika Wax, MSN, ACNP
Vivika Wax, MSN, is a board-certified acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP) who manages patients with irregular heartbeat (cardiac arrhythmia) and cardiac devices in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. She provides post-procedure care, including assessment of medications, symptoms and appropriate diagnostic tests. Ms. Wax also educates patients and families about various arrays of electrophysiology issues.
She has been a nurse practitioner for over 20 years and prior to joining UC San Diego Health, worked in general cardiology and electrophysiology in the Orange County and Los Angeles County areas in southern California. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she practiced as a registered nurse in cardiac care emergency room and orthopedics. She was also a preceptor at UC Irvine and San Diego State University, educating, supervising and mentoring nurse practitioner students.
Ms. Wax earned her master's degree in nursing from UC Los Angeles School of Nursing. She completed her bachelor's degree at San Diego State University. She is certified by the Acute Care Credentialing Center.
Outside of work, Ms. Wax enjoys playing cards, board games and spending time with her dog, Romeo. With four children active in sports, she spends most weekends on fields watching softball or on courts watching volleyball.
