About Pamela Castro, DO, MPH
Pamela Castro, DO, is a board-certified family medicine physician who provides primary care and treatment of acute and chronic conditions in children and adults. She strives to provide holistic care and enjoys the continuity of care she is able to provide to her patients through their life stages.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Castro practiced family medicine at ChapCare Outpatient Clinic in Pasadena where her focus was providing care to underserved and Latino populations.
She completed residency training in family medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Mich. Dr. Castro earned her medical degree at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing. She also holds a Masters of Public Health degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
Dr. Castro is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and the American Osteopathic Association. She is board certified in family medicine.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures, trying out new cuisines and spending time with her beautiful family. Dr. Castro speaks Spanish fluently.
