Carla Busto, MD, FAAP

Carla Busto, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician providing care through the Children's Primary Care Medical Group. She is a member of UC San Diego Health Physician Network.

UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.

As a pediatrician, Dr. Busto provides primary care for infants, children and young adults. She wanted to be a pediatrician since she was a child and loves working with families over time, watching as their children progress through infancy, school years and adulthood. It is important to her to build relationships with families and connect with their children so she can be a source of support in their lives.

Dr. Busto completed her residency at UC Irvine School of Medicine and earned her medical degree at University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).

Outside of work, Dr. Busto enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. They like hiking, local attractions and movies, as well as swimming in their pool together.
