About Jonathan Cheng, MD, MPH
Jonathan Cheng, MD, is a nephrologist (kidney specialist) who treats acute kidney injury, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. He enjoys the opportunity to not only care for patients but to also educate them about their kidney health.
As an assistant professor of medicine, Dr. Cheng trains medical students and residents. He also conducts research related to kidney disease, particularly the role of vitamin D in kidney function and how it impacts cardiovascular and bone health.
Dr. Cheng completed his fellowship in nephrology at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at University of Southern California where he also earned his medical degree.
