About Sara McKinney, MD

Sara McKinney, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist who provides obstetric comprehensive gynecologic care for patients from adolescence to post-menopause. This includes patients in pregnancy and during their deliveries, as well as non-obstetric patients. Additional services include family planning care, dysplasia of the cervix, vulva, and vagina, management of abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, menopause and vulvovaginal conditions. She also offers minimally invasive surgery for multiple gynecological conditions.

Dr. McKinney has a personal interest in diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI), and belonging, as well as understanding and addressing obstacles in health care access among underrepresented and historically marginalized patients.
She tremendously values shared decision-making between a provider and patient. She often thinks of herself as a fountain of information who guides and helps patients make the best decision for themselves and their families. She very much enjoys teaching and making certain that patients have a comfortable grasp on the conditions they are seeking care for.

She completed residency training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston where she served as co-chief resident. Dr. McKinney earned her medical degree from UC Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento, Calif.

Outside of work, she enjoys running, reality television, taking Italian lessons and learning how to ski. She speaks Spanish fluently.
